There are two notable events that have already happened and will happen that I would like to shed light on.
The first is to highlight my friend Melissa Oddo. Melissa and I met years ago on a habitat-like trip, traveling to Kentucky to build rooms and porches on the residents homes. Fast forward a few years, and we both wind up in a world of glitz and glam.
As fun as the fashion industry is, it can extremely isolated. Many of us work alone. Seeing a need in the market, she founded the Stitched Collective to give seamstresses a network and a community. She would also like to see the world return to the trades. Our grandparents all knew how to sew and iron. Now it’s as impossible as explaining how your iPhone works.
She reached out to me to make an outfit for her big day. We created a 1 button pink suit with ivory trim, high waisted and trim pants to match. Check out her interview below!
