The Fabric of America
Wow how about those few weeks of crisp mornings and warm afternoons! I will take that!
2 weeks ago I drove to Chicago for the Chicago Collective Tradeshow. I am glad I can say I did that, and will never be doing that again. As any one who follows my social media can attest, travel is constant in my life, but this was overboard.
The Fabric of America
Let’s get to the big news! Several months ago I walked into DeMelis Atelier in Higganum, my friend Melissa Lynn Oddo owns this wonderful bridal seamstress business. Sontering around making small talk as one does, I sharply turned to Melissa with a contrasting mellow tone and uttered the words that would transform our lives: Do you want to start a podcast?
As I’m typing this I’m thinking of the How I Met Your Mother Episode, when they get drunk and say “we should buy a bar!”. We had a bit more sense. On this podcast you will listen to us talk about small businesses, fabric, fashion, shopping local, sustainability, and all things that make up The Fabric of America. We will have on guests from all walks of life to talk about their wonderful stories and we just want this to be a place that highlights what incredible offerings shopping local has.
The first episode is LIVE!! You can listen wherever you get your podcasts, but click THIS LINK to listen - make sure you put on that alert, we will be dropping new episodes every week!! Watch on Youtube as well
I want to take a moment to highlight my partner in crime, my co-podcaster, my soul sister, Melissa Lynn Oddo. I have never met someone who is such an icon, like someone who walks onto the stage of life and excuses warmth, inspires greatness, and empathizes with such passion. You WANT to give your all because you feel lucky to be in her light. With that said, this North Star has launched her own website. Please check it out, if she’s not on your radar, gets ta stepping! Follow her journey because you’ll be able to say you were an early adopter.
