Let’s recap this year

This year was monumental for several reasons. I have to count my blessings, have too. It doesn’t mean the pats on my back can’t double as comforting gestures for getting through this year.

We started working with a new factory! This move has been 3 years in the making. Up until this point, I have been able to offer a true bespoke garment, handmade in Brooklyn. My starting price for a suit was $8,895. With this new partnership we are able to cut that price in half, and streamline the process. We remain a luxury line, but this new price point has drastically changed who and how we market.

A showroom! It is actually wild, I hadn't realized that opening this show room and bringing on this new factory happened in the same year. My original business plan back in 2018, detailed a showroom, and working with the aforementioned factory. I’m sitting in a coworking space writing this newsletter, just grinning realizing that.

I opted to say yes to more opportunities. I started collaborating with other wedding industry folk on styled shoots. I have been saying no for years because I don’t have any inventory. There is always a way to make something happen! Even though I lack the inventory, I have ample love for supporting other businesses. I reached out to JT Ghamo in Hartford, and used their products. I highlight them, and my services, in the same editorial. These shoots absolutely opened the door for my showroom.

These victories are similar to a whale coming up for a breath of fresh air every few hours. The majority of the time is spent underwater, working to propel myself forward, searching for that next meal, and avoiding predators. Please don’t take this newsletter as anything resembling a boast, but a thank you. This, everything you have seen in your inbox, on social media, or on peoples backs, is only possible thanks to you and your support. There is no Bards Clothing without you showing up and saying that you want more. I thank you for another year. I wish you success in 2024; success in getting through the dark moments, in settings and achieving goals, and in becoming your most authentic self.
